Clay
Required: Flour, salt, water, large bowl and food coloring

In a large bowl, stir 2 ½ cups of flour, l cup of salt and l cup of water, optional 1-teaspoon vegetable oil. Divide the clay into thirds and add desired food coloring, about 12 drops.

Crayon Cookies
Required: Oven, muffin tins, muffin liners (foil) and broken crayons

For a colorful affect, crush up broken crayons. Place small pieces of crayon in a lined muffin tins. Place in oven at 250 degrees until pieces are completely melted. Cool and use as a crayon. Best done when the windows of the house can be opened.

Edible Finger Paint
Required: 3 Tbs. Sugar
1/2 cup cornstarch
2 cups cold water

Mix sugar and cornstarch. Add 2 cups of cold water. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until thick. Add food coloring.

Fluffy Paint
Required: Flour, salt, water, bowl and food coloring

In a small bowl mix 2 tablespoons of flour, 2 tablespoons of salt, and 2 tablespoons of water. Mix well then add several drops of desired food coloring. Pour the mixture into a plastic bottle that squirts, such as a ketchup or mustard bottle. You can repeat the process to make several different colors. This paint dries with a textured feel and is somewhat heavy. You might consider using heavy stock paper or paint on cardboard.

Fun Putty
Required: White glue, cornstarch, and large bowl

Slowly add 1 cup of cornstarch to 2 cups of white glue in a large bowl. Mix until it forms a mass. If it’s too sticky, add more starch, a tablespoon at a time. Explore with hands, spoons, scissors, straws, etc.
(Note: To clean out of clothes, just soak in warm water or try a mixture of 1-part vinegar and 1-part water.)

Goop
Required: Cornstarch, large bowl and water

Mix one box of cornstarch and l cup of water in a large bowl. Explore with hands, spoons, utensils, etc.

Peanut Butter Play Dough
Required: 11/4 cup powered sugar
11/4 cup powered milk
1-cup creamy peanut butter
1-cup Karo syrup

Mix all ingredients, knead until smooth and enjoy with all senses.

Sidewalk Chalk
Required: Large clean bucket, smaller bowl, water, plaster of Paris, small containers, newspaper, and washable tempera paints

Spread out newspaper on a work surface. Fill the large plastic bucket half full with plaster of Paris and slowly add water. Mix until it looks like pudding. Use the smaller bowl to mix tempera paint with smaller amounts of the mixture, and then pour colored mixture into small containers like small yogurt containers. Let it set for about one day, or until it has dried. When containers have dried turn upside down and pop out chalk.

Slime
Required: Large bucket or bowl, water, cornstarch and food coloring

Depending on what you going to do with, this try a small batch first. In a large bowl, take one part water, four parts cornstarch and a few drops of food coloring. Mix well by hand if you dare.
